Diversity: Acknowledging, Respecting, and Valuing Difference

The most successful corporations are comprised of diverse workgroups where employees acknowledge, respect, and value difference. MTS Valuing Difference training will bring awareness to the rewards and benefits of diverse workgroups, while also examining the impact of conflict and bias.

Objectives:

  • Discuss the impact of an individual’s actions and attitudes on others
  • Experience challenges that pose risk to even the most effective team
  • List dimensions of diversity in the workplace
  • Define implicit and explicit attitudes
  • Apply methods to avoid and address conflict while acknowledging difference
  • Discuss ways to influence others and create positive working environments
  • List characteristics of optimum performing teams
  • Develop a process for understanding others and strengthening relationships
  • Participate in activities that will help attendees understand what happens when co-workers do not effectively communicate
