Goal: Develop the supervisor’s ability to manage individual performance goals, effectively address substandard performers, and appropriately recognize positive performers

The Performance Management Skills for Frontline Supervisors workshop furthers the participant’s ability to interact with subordinate employees and coworkers. Each participant will have an opportunity to analyze supervisory approaches and develop the interpersonal communication skills linked with leadership. Workshop activities develop attendees’ ability to address performance management issues, identify underlying contributing factors of issues, and manage matters requiring general supervisory performance related questioning. Participants will create performance expectations, goals, and a work improvement plan.

Objectives:

  • Complete an Everything DiSC® Management Profile
  • Identify methods to coach, delegate, and direct subordinates
  • Analyze effective communication techniques
  • Build methods to enhance relationships
  • Identify methods to work collaboratively with peer-supervisors and commanders
  • Review methods to provide effective feedback
  • Create individually tailored performance expectations
  • Discuss coaching methods and SMART performance goals
  • Write a work improvement plan
